Intelligent hyperlink - searches

I'd like to know if this can be done in word, or which
program this can be done in: (I don't think word is
powerful enough to do it)

1. you have several documents
2. in any of these documents you want to be able to do
a "phrase / word" search that on clicking a "hyperlink"
or "whatever" takes you automatically to a menu that
lists all document locations - of all documents of this
set of documents, that contain the "phrase / word"
3. I know you could create a document and manually list
these links - and then create links to these documents.
But then links would somehow have to be created to return
to the original place.
4. But I don't know of any "intelligent hyperlink search"
capabilities.
Thanks

Hi Seb

No, Word can't do this on its own. You could probably use VBA to program
Word to do it, but that woud not be a trivial task.

Word can, however, create a index for several documents. Word's help has
good information about the RD field (which you use to define the set of
documents of interest) and the Index functionality. But (regrettably!!)
the index itself isn't hyperlinked. That is, you can't click an index
entry and be taken to the page in question.

Hope this helps.
