I recently started using Intellisync for Yahoo so that anyone who wants
to meet with me can simply be directed to my Yahoo calendar. I cannot
have all my contacts know what I am doing and with whom but I can have
them know when I am not available. The Sharing options in Yahoo
calendar allow for exactly this. I chose "Anyone can view my calendar"
under Sharing options. I chose "Show as Busy: others can see when the
event is scheduled, but no details" under default event sharing.
However I ran into a problem. My outlook all day events such as
Columbus day translated into the whole day being marked as busy. In
outlook the problem can easily be taken care of by setting the "show
time as" to free. There appears to be no way to translate that field
into something Yahoo calendar could use to show the item as busy or
not. My only solution was to set all the things that I did not want to
show up as busy, as private since my Yahoo Calendar does not show
"private" items. This is a workaround that is not strictly true. Anyone
know of a way to map the free busy within outlook as free busy within
Yahoo Calendar?
