Inter appilcation macros

Hi,

I have an access macro that performs a make table query and then opens Excel
where I refresh a pivot table based on the newly created table.

I have 2 questions:

1. Can I include the refreshing of the pivot table in the access macro - or
can I run an excel macro as part of the access macro??

2. Can I generate a standard email after the pivot table has refreshed as
part of the original macro?
