Hello,
I'm working on a project to create an interactive map of the library at my
firm, that users can access via our intranet. Our goal is to create a map of
the library shelving layout and users can select a topic or type of
publication from a dropdown list which will then highlight the corresponding
section and location (with coordinates) on the map.
I've reserached a variety of interactive map software available on the
market but their idea of 'interactive' is a descriptive 'bubble' that appears
when you hover over a particular area of the map. Ideally, we're looking for
something that is bi-directional, but our primary requirement is that users
can select their area of interest from a pre-populated list and the map will
direct them to the appropriate location. Someone told me that we might be
able to accomplish this with Visio. Can anyone confirm this for me? I'm not
very familiar with the application (beyond creating flow and org charts), so
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Stephanie
