Baseline info: XP Pro SP1 imaged workstations; Office 2003 Pro deployed
via SMS
The issue is that following a reboot after the SMS deployment, it appears
the the default Tahoma font is unavailable, and the system defaults to the
Tahoma Bold font. Anywhere the Windows shell uses "Tahoma", the font is
bolded (desktop icons, message boxes, etc.).
Various troubleshooting steps have led me to the solution: simply reinstall
the existing Tahoma font from the C:\Windows\Fonts folder and reboot.
Everything comes back up correctly. No need to install from another
location - it's already there in the folder (it's even listed in the
Control Panel/Fonts dialog). It just seems like there's a misregistration
or something causing the font to not be seen by the system.
Any thoughts? Thanks!
