interference on Blackboard from Microsoft Mail

I work in Blackboard. Recently when I try to open a message listed on
Discussion Board, the Microsoft e-mail reply pops up. I should be reading a
message listed on Discussion Board. Students are trying to contact me and I
cannot reply. Another authorized instructor at another location can access
the messages. I realize this probably has to do with a recent Microsoft
update. I need help.

1. What is Blackboard and what does it have to do with Microsoft Office?
2. What kind of interference are you getting from "microsoft" mail?
3. Are you actually using "microsoft" mail?
4. If no, then what mail client are you using?
5. Describe your environmentals.
6. If Blackboard is an application, contact them for support information.
