Interim tasks: tasks that span a flexible gap

How does one construct a task without setting an explicit duration such
that it starts following some predecessor and concludes at some
successor (properly, I suppose, a predecessor SF), completely consuming
the interim? I am looking for the ability to move the two bookend task
at will with the expectation that the interim task will expand or
contract automatically.
