Interland, Web.com Publishing Problem

S

SCM

Went to update my websites early this week. Had not updated for a couple of
months. Tried to publish but got a message "unable to open" my website. The
server sent a reaponse that "Front Page was not able to parse".

Contacted the host Web.com and opened a ticket. That was on 11/11. Called
a couple of times and was told that they had bumped it up a level. They
never contacted me.

I am thinking that maybe there is a hosting operation that is more FrontPage
friendly? It does not look like I am going to get much help from Web.com.
Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,
I feel your pain. I absolutely hate Interland. I had setup my site with
them, then added a feature that their sales guy screwed up. He screwed it up
so bad I had to keep calling for over a week to get it fixed (they pointed
all my account logins to the wrong cluster of servers but couldn't get it
through their thick heads). I ended up dumping them because even after they
got it right (which cost me way too many hours on the phone) their servers
still goofed a lot.

Don't try GoDaddy, they're even worse than Interland.

I've used CrystalTech for a lot of my sites during the last two years. Their
support team is pretty good and responsive even for the really inexpensive
accounts and they do support the FP Server Extensions still. I've also used
Brinkster, but not in a situation that could have caused a lot of problems
that would need to have been resolved.

Get a new host.
I get a email response from my host within 15-30 minutes without fail, and
if I call them I get help within 5 min. If I didn't I'd be movin' on.

Thanks Mark. I will look into CrystalTech and Brinkster. I still have not
gotten a response from Web.com. When I added a domain just a few months ago
they ran me in the same game they did you. Thanks for your insight.
