Intermittant Crash...............

D

David Russell

I am using Visio Version 10.0.2514. I will have a
database diagram up, click on a stored procedure, the code
window will open, I will switch to notes, and boom. The
entire application crashes.

This is what I see in the event viewer:

David, does this happen for any database diagram, or just a particular
file. If its only happening with a specific file, would it be possible for
you to email me a copy of the file so that I can repro the problem here?
My email address is (e-mail address removed).

Thanks David for the details. I've verified the problem here and I've
logged a new bug to track the issue.

The workarounds which don’t solve the problem but they minimize the effect
are: resize the Code Editor window as large as possible to maximize the
number of lines of text that you can type (or paste) into the notes field.
Upgrade to Windows XP to avoid the crash.

It would happen on three different machines I used in last 6 months.
All of them with XP+patches installed. Any progress on producing the
patch?
