intermittent error having to restart Outlook (long question)

Help please!

History and Info: Running Win XP Pro / Office XP with
Frontpage. Everything fine until I bought a new Maxtor
160 GB Hard Drive. transfered all files to new HD with
utility that came with drive. Seemed to work fine. Using
old drive as slave to new one. No problem so far. Also
using Norton Antivirus and Norton Utilities, ZoneAlarm
Pro.

Problem(s): Beside the occasional program losing their
icons but still working correctly (a non-issue) and some
other minor problems that come with using a computer;
when sending/receiving I would get an error "Service
provider returned this info... blah blah blah error
0x800ccc0f" annoying but not deadly. But when I would
shut down Outlook and then shut down computer, Outlook
would be still be "running" and windows would ask to "End
Now". and sometimes i would close outlook and it would
still be "running" in my processes and using up all my
resources. And i would get an intermittent error and
have to close Outlook. No consistancy in why it does
this. (Open a message and get an error, just click on
message to read it and get an error, leave the computer
alone for an hour and get an error).

Some good I searched these newsgroups and found a
solution to the 0x800ccc0f error (thanks) and found the
KB solution.

Any help would be great! thanks
