Since I updated my Intel iMac to 10.4.9 my Entourage v.X would
intermittently freeze and I would have to force quit in order to get out of
the program. I can relaunch Entourage and repeat exact what I had done just
before the freeze and it doesn't happen again. Usually I can complete a
session when this happens. When this happens I sometimes get an error
message: -192 but not every time this occurs. What is error -192? The
message window display includes the Entourage logo. So far the rest of my
Office v.X apps have been behaving themselves. Any ideas?
We have both a positive and negative error 192 listed, so if your error is
not -192 see the Error Page:

========
Error -192
The script could not run. End of file was reached.
or
The script could not be run. An error has occurred(-192)
This was fixed in the update Office 10.1.2
The -192 error is a problem with a file's resource fork, and so could apply
in more than one scenario. Where scripts are involved this is usually
because they're trying to run one of Jaguar's data fork scripts in a pre-SR1
Entourage.

OK, this fix does not seem to relate at all to your problem. However with
errors it's not an exact science. I would run the Apple combo updater and
see if that fixes the problem. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage.
The combo update installer updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3,
10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, or 10.4.8 to 10.4.9.

Using Repair Permissions after installing MS Office or any application that
uses an installer is often advised. To use Repair Permissions:
1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
4. Click the repair permissions button.
Don't run from CD. Updates contain a newer versions of the application's
permissions.
