I'm using Office 97 on windows 2000 platform. While working on my xls/doc
file (from floppy disk) many a times it cause my pc to hang resulting me to
reboot my computer. This will only happen when i wanted to save the file
back to the floppy. When I try on another pc, it work perfect. I have
symantec antivirus and client firewall install on this pc. This application
has been installed for about 2 years and had never happen before. I have
tried to uninstall office and reload but the problem still come back. I have
alway download any critical update for my windows 2000.

Pls advise if it has any conflict on the software. The floppy drive seem ok
as it can still read and save file .

This has nothing whatsoever to do with Office. Saving and opening files
directly to and from a floppy is just asking for trouble - i"m surprised
you've not corrupted the data before now! Copy the file to the hard disk,
edit, save changes to hard disk and copy back to the floppy.

It may sound long-winded, but surely you must know the adage "more haste,
less speed"...?
