For some time I have noticed a series of irritating intermittent
problems with Excel 2004 and I'm hopeful that someone here has some
suggestions for fixing them. Here are a list of the problems.
- mini freeze on entering data - a stoppage after the first letter.
The only way of ending the freeze is to click the yes check, save
(which sometimes doesn't react to command s) and then continue.
- input boxes don't work - input boxes are a function of the old Macro
language (yes this dates me - I've been using Excel on Macs since the
earliest Macs) and are used to enter data into a Macro. When it
doesn't work I have to click somewhere on the spreadsheet and delete
the cell reference and then enter the data I want to enter. Sometimes
this has to be done twice.
- find and replace doesn't work - sometimes after bringing up the find
and replace input boxes don't react to the keyboard. Closing and
reopening the dialog box works eventually.
I'm at 10.5.7. I believe that I am up to date with Excel. Any
suggestions much appreciated
