Internal Error 2349: Please contact product support for assistance

I recently upgraded to XP and now when I try to install Office 2000 I
continually receive this error. I have tried to install from both the CD-RW
drive, and then after reading the MS KB article I tried it in the CD-Rom and
still received the error. I have also cleaned the CD but continue to receive
the error. This occurs on Disk 1.

Thanks for the response. I actually attempted to do this, and for the most
part it worked. I did receive quite a few error messages that specific files
could not be read from the source, so I imagine that my disk must be damaged.
To work around this I searched my computer's old hard drive, my laptop (each
which had installs of Office on them), and the internet for each of the
missing files and copied them into the folder I had copied the disks into.
In the end Office was installed, and never even asked for Disk 2. I was able
to use the MS Office update tools and received all necessary updates online
as well. I guess I'll copy the contents of this folder onto another CD just
in case I ever have to install again. What a headache!
