internal processing information displayed in Word 2007

Hi,

Until yesterday I have had no problems with Word 2007. Today it suddenly
displays information in my text which should be internal to the document but
not visible to me.

For example, I use cross references and now it shows this: "... sections {
REF _Ref167166887 \r \h \* MERGEFORMAT}..." instead of "... sections 1.4
...." .

I also use EndNote X and there it now shows heaps of XML tags like this "{
ADDIN EN.CITE <EndNote><Cite><Author>Naughton</Author>....."

How can I disable this and return to the normal view?
