International Character Toolbar

I have just upgraded my daughters PC to Office 2007. She is a French major
and one of the add-ins that has been critical to her college work is the ICT
Toolbar. We have not been able to get this to work with Word 2007. Have any
of you been able to get the toolbar to work? Is there a better way to do the
same thing in 2007?

Thanks,
Mike

I use United States International keyboard with several languages, English,
Spanish, German, Portuguese and learning French. This is physically
compatible with keyboards used/sold in the United States and works at the
operating system level. For example "è" is "`" followed by "e", "ç" is
Right-Alt "," and other combinations are fairly easy to find and learn.
Another approach is to install a French keyboard in Control Panel, Regional
and Language Options, Languages, Details (under XP, Vista location is
similar), with or without purchasing an actual French keyboard. The key
locations are slightly different than in US, but one gets used to them
quickly. A third approach is to use Office shortcuts for international
characters. Press F1 in your favorite Office program and type
"international keys" in the search box.

I don't know anything about ICT, but if it is a third party add-on perhaps
contact the vendor.

Thanks Earle. Your suggestion is certainly an option I will look at. I have
used the Russian keyboard from the control panel and it does work well.
There is just a certain simplicity in the ICT Toolbar that makes it so easy
to use. It was delivered by Microsoft as an add-in for Office 2203. I have
just not been able to find it anywhere for 2007.
