International Date Cell Format

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Power PC

Office 2004 Mac had a bug/problem with formatting cells in the UK/International Date format of dd/mm/yy instead of the US Date format mm/dd/yy.

Can anyone confirm that this has been addressed or solved in Office 2008 Mac, before I buy it?
