internet codes on my document

hi, i recently took a bunch of files online and saved them onto my computer
through microsoft word. now there is html coding (the backwards P) after
every single line in every single document i have tried to make. This is
expecially fustrationg for my senior thesis which is 50 pages long. How can i
get rid of this please help me!

They are not internet codes but are Word formatting marks (along with marks
for spaces, tabs, etc.) and have been there, unseen, all along. You've just
turned them on somehow. They don't print and can sometimes be useful to see.
Look for the pilcrow (backwards cap P) in one of the toolbars (or the0 /home
ribbon in W2007) and click it—once, and they are off; again, and they're back.
