Internet Explorer ActiveX update & Project

Microsoft is releasing a software update to Internet Explorer 6 for MS
Windows XP SP2 and MS Windows Server 2003 SP1. With the new update, the
documentation say that the users cannot interact with ActiveX controls from
certain Web pages until these controls are enabled. Has anyone been able to
verify if this update affects the ActiveX controls that are downloaded when
accessing Project Web Access?
For details on the IE ActiveX update, see

Thanks!

Yes, but it does not seem to reduce functionality. Users simply have to
click once on the ActiveX control to activate it before being able to
actually use/interact with it.

For us, this IE/ActiveX patch badly breaks Project Server Web Access,
on the Status Reports page.

IE spikes to 100% usage for several minutes, and then settles down (but
doesnt correctly draw the text-editor controls). If you then click on
any of the controls, it will spike back to 100%. Rinse & repeat.

the only way out is to use task manager or tskill to kill IEXPLORE.EXE.

Given that it is no longer physically possible to use Project Server to
submit status reports, we're now scrambling to find other ways to do
all the status updates, until MS fixes Project Server.

I'm surprised no one at MS found this problem in testing, it makes PS
completely unusable for us now, at least on the status reports aspect.
