internet host who is best

I want to make my web page live, and I am trying to pick the best host for my
business for the best cost also. This is my first web page. I have looked
on the webhostingtalk.com, searched on-line hosts, talked to alltel, yahoo,
etc. and I am just wondering if anyone out there could give me some help in
deciding who to use. I want 24/7 support/help, and I don't want my page
down, and if it must be for the host to update I want it for as short of time
as possible. I am NOT going to use a free web page host.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

I have one more question, how do you get the internet to detect your page in
the top 10 when it is spidering to find search results from let's say google
or yahoo?
