Internet Worm? Warning on POP3 Duplicates...

Has anyone noticed that since Monday Nov. 7th an increased number of
users have been complaining about duplicate POP emails?

We have noticed it has happened with users across servers and
environments, but only if they retrieve using POP. For example, we use
Exchange internally and don't have this issue except on our
Blackberries where we've set it up to retrieve via POP.

Could something like this be caused by an Internet worm corrupting
headers? It seems a strange coincidence to have so many people with the
same issue with no common thread.

are the messages blank or spam? if yes, then its certainly possible, but if
the messages are legit, then it's hard to say without examining the email
messages.

These were legitimate messages. It seems a few things fixed it for most
people:
1. Turn off "keep on server".
2. Make send/receive at least 12 minutes.
3. Install Outlook SP2.
