interruption or delay while the first running of office documents

We have Office 2007 Pro Pluys in our company.
All was very good. But in time after some updates of windows or office now
we all have the same problem. When we open a office document (word, excel,
etc.) we are having about 10 sec interruption just after opening the
document. The document window does not respond. After about 10 sec we can
work normally.

This irritates the all user. Most of them complaining about it. I made all
updates for windows and office programs.

Does any one having the similar problem or know the reason-slution for this?

Perhaps you have an Anti-virus software scanning the document? If so,
turn that feature off.

We allways have the antivirus program. But office was working normal till 3
days ago. No freezing etc.

But now it happens. I counted. It takes 13 sec.

Do you know any other reason?

What happened "just before" 3 days ago?

Nothing Happened.
Just started to make this interruption.

There must be a reason for this.

Nothing. Just started to make this problem.

Another thing, if an office document is allready open at the second
documentd we have no interruption. All is normal. Just for the first office
document we have the problem.

So it must be related to program not document or the virus program which
scans all files while running.

Sorry, there is ALWAYS a reason, if you say "nothing", that means you
have not discovered what happened. Please review the Event logs on the
PC's that are giving problems. You have had something installed, updated
or replaced just before 3 days ago. (Shortcut to run the Event viewer is
eventvwr.msc in the Run box) Otherwise you may try Windows System
Restore on the affected PC's

First of all, Happy new year to all.

I have looked at event log for this behavior. So there is nothing new inthe
event log.
If I try to close the program during this freeze period (10-13 sec) this
error event can be found in event log. "Error EventType officelifeboathang".
This error is familiar if you try to close a not responding program. Then
office tries to to send an error report for this error.

We have not installed new program or something. All we do is to make the
regular recommended updates for windows and office.

Do we need to uninstall the latest updates to get office back in regular. Or
do we need to install all recommended updates for office and windows.

Thanks for your interest.

Happy New Year to you also. I suppose you may uninstall Office updates
back to the point at which this started. If this doesn't cure the issue
Then the windows updates. If the issue is cured, reinstall the ones that
were ok, and determine the one that is creating the problem. If the
problem is not cured, then it likely wasn't the Office or Windows
updates that did it.
