Intro to Excel?

I am looking for a new job and almost all want a "knowledge" of Excel. I see that there are some training courses available on all the Office apps here, but I'd like a basic introduction to Excel. Can anyone suggest a good course to start with and where to progress from there? I am looking for a customer service-type position and don't quite understand *why* I might need Excel! Thanks for any help! Tammie
