Dear Onenote team, and fellow users.
I have now been using Onenote for a while, and while a great idea it
has a few shortfalls.
Firstly here is my problem scenario.
Background:
I work on around 50 projects at a time. (agreed far too many to be
good at keeping track of them all) hence the reason I need a tool to
assist me.
Problem
On a daily basis I will receive phone calls, emails and indeed think
of new things that need to be done myself. Quite often these are
simply interruptions to whatever I am doing at the time. But if I
don't write it down, it will get forgotten.
However what I have found is that simply writing something down does
not guarantee what it will get done. So this of course is where
Onenote comes in. Ok I can type a reminder / action task in onenote,
and then assign a FLAG to it as a reminder. But that still relies on
me filtering those flags into priority order.
SUGGESTION
Now what I want to see are more options for each individual note. At
the moment there is very little that can be done to a note……. All you
can do is format it, make it look pretty, move it around the page.
What I want to see when I right click on a note is the following.
TOP
[Properties Dialogue]
Note creation date/time:
Note file size eg. Pictures
Read Only Y/N
Link dependencies to other notes. Eg one this has to be done before
another
Reminder/follow up date (this to be displayed)
Reporting feature, to generate weekly activity of closed and newly
created notes with dates and times. Not just a summary of ALL tasks
open that is currently built-in
