Introducing sections of a slide separately

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel I have a slide with five bullet points and I'd like to introduce each bullet point separately. I'm pretty sure you can do this but cannot figure out how. Any guidance will be greatly appreciated,

You want Custom Animation. Click on the shape with the text, go to the Slide
Show menu, and choose Custom Animation. Then click Add Effect. That should
get you started.
