Invalid argument during append query

Hello everyone. I have a problem in Access 2000 with an
append query that takes text from a form control (text
box) and appends it into a table. (memo field). Everything
works fine untill the text box in the form contains more
than 128 charachters, at which point we get 'invalid
argument' when the append query is run.
This sounds a bit like KB302495, but I have already
checked that I am on SP3. The database is very small
(1.6MByte). Any thoughts ?
