invalid argument

Converted an Access 97 database to Access 2000 about a
month ago. It is used by about 30 people 24/7. There
have been 2 instances since then, where 'there was an
error executing the command' comes up trying to update
records. When this happens the table becomes
inaccessible, get 'Invalid Argument' error message when
try to open table, click ok then get 'can't open table in
datasheet view' error message.

1. Is there any method besides restoring from backup tape
to correct this so table can be opened?

2. Does this sound like conversion problem?

Thanks!
Kathy

After conversion did you open the database under Access 2000 and issue a
'Compile' to ensure that all required references have been properly set. You
also may want to ensure the database has been split. Tables reside on a
back-end server and the front-end (linked tables, queries, forms etc) reside
on each user's own computer. Any other way you will always be corrupting
your database.
