Invalid Name error when trying to add resource

I have one resource that I cannot add to the Enterprise Resource sheet. The
error that comes back is "invalid name". I have had Active Directory checked
and there are no errors with this resource name. Any ideas as to what causes
this error message?

Hello Christine,

May be this resource name already exists, but it has been deactivated. Check
it in the PWA Resource Center .

This user exists in PWA as active but all options are greyed out, including
account status. If we go to "Clean-up Project Server Database" to try and
delete and re-add, the user is not listed in the list of resources.

Is there a space in their user name? I have one user with a space in their
user name and PWA will not recognize it.

No - no space. It is an unusual name but no space.

We are going to try and manually remove the record from the SQL server and
then try to add him again.

I'ld try : Admin / Manage Enterprise Features / Checkin Enterprise Resources
Isn't he here ?

No - he is not there. Our SQL guy can see him on the MSP_RESOURCES table so
we may just delete him from the server and try to add him again through
project server.
