invalid path or file name

I recieve an "invalid path or file name please check the file is still
available and that the path is correct" when saving a word document on to our
"server" accross a network. I can open the file perfectly from explorer and
from within word. But if I change it and want to save the changes it gives
the above error. I can however create a new file and save it on our "server"
under the same path. The server is mapped. The server is a windows 98
computer and the workststion is a winXP computer. Both have word2000. The
"server's" shared drive does not have any passwords or file restrictions
implemented.

Subject: MS05-011 Security Update breaks saving from Excel and Word to
Windows 9x shared folder

This issue is under investigation for a possible fix, but since you may see
reports of it in the newsgroups, I wanted to provide the details.

The MS05-11 security update for Windows XP and Windows 2000 will cause
saving files from Excel and Word (versions 2000 and 2002 are verified) to
fail with an error ("The folder <name> isn't accessible..."). Windows is
evaluating a fix, but for now only the workarounds listed below are
available.

1. Save the file locally then move it to the Windows 98 machine.
2. Another possible workaround is to do the following:
When you type the name, use the tab key to move focus to the cancel button
and then click on Save.
OR
Click on CANCEL, hold down the mouse and then move the mouse off the cancel
button, then let go of the mouse button) and then click on Save.
4. Upgrade Windows 98 to either Windows 2000 or Windows XP

Obviously, none of these are great workarounds
