Invalid Product Key

I am trying to convert a Trial Version of O2K7 to a perpetual license with a
code I received from my IT department. The DVD was lost and they only have
the license key which I validated with MS. When I try to convert the trial
using the key I get a message that states "The key is incorrect. Verify that
you have th correct key, and then retype it." Is there any way to get this to
work. Tech support won't help because it is a volume license and there is no
DVD to install from. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

The key you received from your IT department goes with the DVD that was
lost. Each version of Office has specific keys and the enterprise key that
you have won't work on a preinstalled version (trial) of Office. Your IT
department needs to contact their supplier or Microsoft to replace the DVD
for the key.

Thanks for your help. However, what is the purpose of the convert button in
the activation wizard? Shame on MS for adding and advertising a feature of
their UI that simply will not work. It costs businesses time and money to
install and reinstall software.

The purpose of the convert button is to use it to "convert" a trial version
to the proper "licensed" version of the software. You are asking to use a
license for one version to activate a different version with different
license agreements. Use the proper license key and the activation and
conversion will go off without a hitch.
