Inventory Table

I have an inventory table that has a
field "AvailableParts" and a field "inout". I believe I
would need to do an update query, but I can't seem to make
it work. How would I create the query where a user will
only have to enter "inout" (whether it's a positive number
or negative number) and it will automatically update
my "availableparts" field? Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
