Inventory tracking

I created a input button in formview webpart which is attached to the
inventory/ dispform.aspx page (it is display view of a specific item). when
a user click on this button, I want to start a manual workflow - which I
already created using SPD.
My challenges are
1) how to pass id/listid to the input start button, which brings all details
to the workflow!
2) It works from edit mode of the list item but a user does not get
permission to edit. so, in view mode user click a start button which start
manual wf.
