Invisible messages in inbox and deleted messages

Hi all

I have a number next to both the inbox and deleted messages in one of my
accounts. Although this changes to reflect new messages it never goes to
zero, and nothing appears in list/preview pane.

I have purged and rebuilt the database but they don't go.

Any ideas?
