Invisible Messages

My CEO has encountered a problem with messages not being displayed in his
Inbox.

This only happens with one particular sender (that we know of). The message
is there and can be accessed by searching for the sender but remains
invisible during a normal listing of the Inbox.

My CEO is using Windows XP and Outlook 2000.

Can anyone suggest possible causes/remedies. There are obvious business
implications here if he is not responding to incoming mail.
