When I invite attendees with a mailbox on my server they
recieve the accept and delcine buttons but when I send a
meeting request to someone using internet mail or a
different server they don't recieve th accept and decline
buttons. Any advice? We are using Exchange 5.5.

You need to force RTF format. Right click on the Internet recipients,
select properties and then use the check box at the bottom to always send
RTF. You may need to do this for every meeting/appointment/task that you
send outside or your organization.

I played around with this some more and found out the
recipient has to be using an Exchange server for this to
work. Forcing RTF format will work if the internet client
is sending a meeting request to an Exchange client but if
the Exchange client sends a meeting request to an internet
client the accept and decline buttons do not show
up.Argh.Any other ideas?

"Forward As iCal" from the actions menu of the meeting request will work.
Exchange 2000+ will automatically convert outgoing meetings to iCal.
