invites not visible in vcf format

I am unable to see meeting invites from some colleagues in
the vcf form - ie. when you open the invite, there are no
accept/reject buttons - its a blank email.

But the same invite is visible to other people. We arent
using exchange server. What could be the issue with my
client ?

(I do see the invite if I ask my colleagues to turn
iCalendar off and then send the message - but there seems
to a problem with my client setup somewhere because the
same invite is seen by other people)

You didn't mention your Outlook version, but if it's Outlook 2000, ask one of the colleagues to send you an invititaion in iCal format but with no reminder.
