Invites to Recurring Event see 6:00 PM start instead of 12:00 AM

I'm using Outlook 2002 on Windows XP. When I make a new recurring event the
default time for the event is 12:00AM to 12:00AM. This makes sense and is
fine for an all day event. However when I invite someone else to the event
over email, no exchange server or anything involved just two copies of
Outlook 2002, when the event appears in their calendar it is now a 6:00PM to
6:00PM event. This is not only the wrong time but it shows up in their
calendar as a 2 day event which is confusing. When I make a new event that is
2 days that again starts and ends at 12:00AM, it again becomes 6:00PM to
6:00PM and becomes a three day event on the other persons calendar.

This happens inviting attendees from either computer. It only happens when
you do 12:00AM to 12:00AM events, other times do not change but are of course
show up as 2 day events. I've searched through the KB, google and this
newsgroup and can't find anything except some stuff about time zone issues,
but both are in the same timezone. There was a similar sounding problem in
the spanish version on Outlook but the workaround there didn't work either,
setting the work day to 12:00 AM to 12:00 AM.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm stumped. It's not hard to change the time
on the computer that recieves the appointment but is definately a hassle.
Thanks.
