Inviting other users to monthly recurring calendar events

We have an Exchange server. Our PCs use Outlook (either 2000 or 2003)
for e-mail. Our Macs will use Entourage ... if we can work out some
issues like the following:

If I use Entourage to set a monthly calendar event (say, a meeting
that takes place the last Friday of every month) and invite Outlook
users, they get the meeting on their calendar but they don't get the
recurrence ... just the initial Friday meeting. However, the info that
comes with the invitation is correct, specifying that this is a
monthly meeting; it just fails to appear on the calendar. Entourage
users get the meeting info correctly, and it appears as a calendar
event that recurs monthly.

If I use Outlook to schedule this monthly meeting, everyone (Entourage
and Outlook) gets it on their calendar with the expected recurrence.

Oddly enough, a weekly recurring event works fine (the recurrence
shows up on Outlook calendars). There's something about the monthly
recurring appointment that Entourage and Outlook disagree on. FWIW,
MacMail also doesn't work correctly with the monthly meeting
invitation from Entourage (MacMail uses an attachment that you import
into iCal).

We just need a fix or an explanation ... everyone in our company needs
to be able to send and receive meeting requests that are accurate.
