IPSTAG or nameservers

I have registered a .co.uk name a few weeks ago and it is set up ok, I have
now got my self some space from a host. The email I got from them says the
following:-

"If you have transfered your domain from another host, please make sure you
have visited the domain transfers section on our web site, and carried out
any necessary procedures.
If it is a UK domain you are transferring please ask your existing host to
change the IPSTAG to *******.
For any other domains please be sure to contact your registrar and update
the nameservers to those for ****** as listed below:"

When I logged onto the host that I registered the .co.uk with and read about
changing the UPSTAGE it looked a bit serious, it read like this:-

WARNING: This action is not reversible without interaction from a third
party (either Nominet UK or the holder of the new IPS TAG). If you change
the tag, you will not be able to modify the nameservers through the ********
control panel

So i did not change the IPSTAG i changed the nameserver, is it going to
work?

yes it will work - the ipstag denotes who your domain is actually registered
with. This is different to your web hosts nameservers which denote where to
send visitors when they type www.you.co.uk. All you need to point the domain
to your site is to enter the 2 nameservers your host gave you with the
holder of the ipstag - they probably have a web based control panel to do
this. Then wait 1 -2 days for the new nameservers to propogate.

I think it's not a good idea to have your domains registered with your
host - if you fall out with your host you dont need to rely on them to
change your domains to your new host.
