How is this feature supposed to work? We set up permissions on a document as
to who can read/edit parts of a document, but when we e-mailed it out,
people had to get a passport account. We went that far, but then received a
message saying we didn't have the proper credntials. Those that already had
passport accounts got the same message.

Hi Jeff,

In Word 2003 if you clicked on the 'Permission' icon
on the standard toolbar and signed up for the trial
service, you may get that message if you didn't complete
the 'verify email' step there and in the email that was
sent.
This is the help page for the DRM trial service connection.

YOu might also get this if you're using a firewall that
hasn't been setup to allow connection to the web for
validation.
