iron crosses

i cannot get the iron crosses off, i am a grad student just wanting general
note taking, not the cut and paste features.

I'm afraid I really don't understand your question. Can you elaborate on
what "iron crosses" you're seeing, under what circumstances you're seeing
them and what you've already tried to get them "off?"

I am having the same problem. Each time my mouse goes near a paragraph, I get
a "select table" icon. I also see resizing frames around photos. It is very
distracting. How can I turn this feature off?

What OS are you running this on? I don't see this problem on my Tablet PC.
