Irrelevant Postings

Jack Cannon

This newsgroup seems to be receiving a lot of irrelevant or spam postings. I
would suggest that Microsoft authorize someone to be able to delete such
postings.

Many blogs have a "Report Abuse" option connected to specific posts. There
is already a "Was this post helpful to you?" option. Why not add a "Report
Abuse" option?

Thanks,
Jack Cannon

It wouldn't be bad, but I worry that some individuals would go around
continually reporting other individuals' posts as "abuse", even when they
aren't.

Microsoft does have an anti-spam crew that try to keep the newsgroups clean,
and you can see the results of their efforts. Clearly, though, they often
have a hard time keeping up.

How does one go about writing or even contacting MSN about a poster who is
constantly harrassing, and posting very vile posts?

I need help findout out.

I don't know if there's any easy way for you to do that, except just to post
a message in the newsgroup where this is happening, naming the user and
citing some of the posts by subject and date. I don't know if anyone from
Microsoft will see that post directly, but one of the MVPs may see it and
pass it on to Microsoft.

Since you brought up the subject in this thread, you could reply to this
message with the information.
