Irritating message when starting Office 2007 B2TR

Hi, I have been using Beta 2 of Office 2007 on Windows Vista Beta 2, but have
recently upgraded first to Vista Release Candidate 1 and then installed the
Office 2007 Beta 2 Technical Refresh.

Since doing this I get an irritating dialogue box that appears when I now
start up Word or Excel. It says "BCM Office Admin. Office application
version does not match".

This doesn't seem to cause any problems in terms of me using the
applications, and so I therefore just dismiss the dialogue box, but can
anyone help as to why this message is appearing and if I can stop it
happening?

Many thanks.

You need to update BCM to B2TR. See the link on my website for where to
get it.

Hi I just got Vista-Business, and decided not to buy the 2007 Office but keep the 2003 Version; I get the same dang irritating dialog - did you find a fix for this yet?

Hello JoAnn,

The error he is referring to, and now me too, is:

"BCM Office Admin"
"Office application version does not match"

I get this after having gotten my new laptop which comes with Vista
Home Premium.
Instead of buying Office 2007, I uninstalled all the trial Office 2007
Junk and installed my old Office 2003 and it gives me that error every
time I open a new file in Excell, or when I open Outlook.

It's a pain, but it doesn't appear to be doing anyhing terrible.
It's mostly annoying and I want to solve the problem before I realize
that there is something really wrong.

Thanks,

Albert

Hi Albert,

If you look in the control panel at the installed programs list are there any 2007 series products still listed? As a guess it
sounds like the separately installed Office 2007 Outlook Business Contact Manager add-in might still be installed.

The Business Contact Manager (BCM) from 2007 wouldn't be compatibile with Outlook 2003.
