I was getting this irritating message in Word XP whenever I closed a
document or template. This was happening regardless of whether or not
I made any changes.
The only reference I found for this problem was this posting
(http://groups.google.com/groups?q="[email protected]&rnum=3)in
another NG a year ago.
The solutions posted there did not make any difference. After
judiciously checking my documents and converting every field to text,
Word was still prompting me to save the doc.
The actual cause seems to be some new features in Word XP. Namely the
options to "Embed Linguistic data" and "Embed smart tags". These two
options are found in the Save tab of Tools|Options menu.
The setting of both options is saved in the document so I had to turn
these off for every document/template and then save the document.
Which is a bit odd, since most settings under tools|options are
application settings not document settings. Then again I did say
"most" <g>.
Cheers
