Is a Flex Grid What I need?

I am looking to set up a schedule for my production team so that they can see
all of their open orders, what machine and or operator is working on them,
the material used, the qty needed for the order and the due date.

I really would like this to be a dynamic form where they can tweak dates or
move around the orders to move in a rush order or move back an order etc...
dates and times are changing all the time, and I'd like my production team to
have a screen to view each machine and the orders assigned to that machine.

In the past I have looked at the flex grid control (can't get it to work in
07 software- working on that issue). But I do think this may be something
that would work.

If the flex grid is what I need then -How does it work exactly?
If not - what would you suggest.

I have a calendar form and a calendar report I could implement in your
database to do this for you. The calendar looks like a page from a wall
calendar. The year and month are selectable. Each machine would be
selectable and you could display the due dates of all orders for the machine
in the selected year and month. You could click on any order and popup a
form displaying the list of materials and quantity needed. You could also
program the calendar to be able to change the date of an existing order or
add a rush order.
There would be a small fee to implement the calendar form and calendar
report for you. Send me your email address and I will send you a screen shot
of the calendar.

The FlexGrid is a VB6 (or earlier) object which isn't licensed to work from
Access. That may be your problem in Access 2007. If you install it with a VB
6 program, it is then licensed. There are other excellent (but not free)
grids as well. One I've used is T-List:

Thank you guys... and Steve, I am interested in free advise/help... not being
taken for a ride.... but nice try.

I do have the flex grid demo downloaded, and I have seen it in action when I
had the 2003 software but now that I have 2007 I can't even get the demo to
run....

So really you all are saying that a flex grid would work best for what I
want? or is there something else I could use in lieu of the flex grid?

Jacinda,

Of course, a FlexGrid control can display your data but it sounds to
me as though you could do what you want with standard Access controls
such as List boxes, Combo boxes, Continuous subforms, etc. I suppose
it depends on what format you want to display the data, the Flex Grid
control is ideal for displaying a Many to Many table format but if you
are just displaying lists of data then a List box would do.

Regarding the Flex Grid Demo, this does work in Access 2007 (I have
just tried it) but you need to make sure that you have the latest
version of the control and, as you are using A2007, you need to make
sure the folder in which it is located is a 'trusted' location. If
those two conditions are correct then perhaps you could let us know
what exactly does not work when you run the demo program.

You didn't do the OP a favor at all. In fact, you hurt her. My calendar form
and calendar report would have done exactly what she described she wanted.
You flash MVP credentials but certainly don't live up to the standards of an
MVP. You are suppose to help users not prevent them from at least looking at
solutions to their problems.

I tried using this with Access 2010. The ocx registration was successful, but when I try to add it to my form, I get an error:

"You don't have the license required to use this ActiveX control.

You tried to open a form containing an OLE object or ActiveX control or you tried to create an ActiveX control.

To obtain the appropriate license, contact the company that provides the licensed OLD object or ActiveX control."

Any suggestions?
