Is in use and cannot be accessed!

I tried to change the starting tme of an appointment and got a message that
said, "The file... is in ue and cannot be accessed. Close any application
that is using this file, and then try again. You might need to restart your
computer." However - no other application is running and retating the
computer did not help.
