Is there any way using the Groove API (Groove WebServices) to programatically
accept workspace invitations? I so far haven't been able to find a way. I
can access the invitation message, but there doesn't seem to be any way to
actually accept the invitation.
The problem is that we are using the Groove Data Bridge to provision a
Groove workspace with all of the document libraries in a SharePoint site when
it is created. We thought that GDB would be able to also handle the
synchronization between SharePoint and Groove, but evidently it does not.
Since GDB will not perform the actual synchronization with the SharePoint
document libraries, and there will only be 2-3 users in a workspace, none of
which will be online reliably, our next thought was to install the Office
Groove 2007 Client on a separate desktop and let it run unmonitored to handle
the synchronization. However, I haven't yet found a way for this to happen
without requiring someone to manually accept the invitation.
It seems like it should possible, since there is an option in the Groove
Data Bridge to automatically accept invitations from known contacts, and GDB
is essentially a Groove Client that can be set up to run as a server process
as opposed to a desktop application. Can I craft a custom Groove message to
accomplish this?
