Is it possible to change the shape of the boxes in organization charts? Has
anyone used the org charts wizard to create any other diagram with different
shapes?

There is no easy way to accomplish this.

The Organization Chart solution is closely linked to the shapes in the
Organization Chart stencil. If you want to change the look of the
organization chart shapes and still have them function with the solution,
you will need to create a new stencil and template starting with the
existing Organization chart stencil.

If you are comfortable with shape sheet programming, take a look at the
attached posting.

I had the same question - I wanted circles instead of rectangles to do and
different style org chart. I found out that I could select properties for
each box and the select to round the edges,. Not a circle, but closer to
what I wanted.

You may already know this, but If you want to change all the shapes for a
*single* drawing you can do the following:

1. From the menu select File->Shapes->Show Document Stencil. This opens the
document stencil which will contain local copies of all the Org Chart
masters;
2. Edit a local master by right-clicking on the master shape in the document
stencil and choosing Edit Master->Edit Master Shape.
3. Make your changes and save the master by closing the master edit window.
4. Rinse and repeat with the other masters.

By editing the masters in the document stencil you will change all existing
and future instances of the master in the document, so you only have do
perform the edit once.
