Is it possible to completely block an email? Outlook 2007.

Whether a legitimate email comes from a recognized account into my inbox or
junk - this takes a lot of my computers resources. In fact, when an email
comes through up 60% of CPU usage each time.

My question...Is it possible to completely block an email without it even
going to my junk. In other words I do not want to even have junk processed by
my computer, let alone my junk email folder.

Can you setup any sort of rules/filtering on your mail server? My ISP allows
for some of that and many others do.

Block it on the server, then. Otherwise, Outlook will have to process it.
You can't block anything in Outlook until after it has been downloaded.

In order for the mail not to be processed by OL you would need to intercept
it before it is downloaded, and OL then treats it appropriately. There are
some third party solutions,(Mailwasher eg) but these generally require you
log on to a web interface & delete mail from the server prior to you polling
for mail in OL .

The amount of cpu usage might depend to some extent on the specs of your PC
