Hi Designingsally,
THis is self explainatory. is it possible to edit word document when macros
are running.

Can you please provide more detail about what you have in mind?

There are circumstances when the user doing something in Word can conflict
with macro execution. But "normal editing" cannot take place when a macro is
running.

Designingsally,

I think that there are several people that have bent over backwards trying
to assist you with your VBA projects and learning curve. A few have spent
considerable time crafty workable and well structured code solutions for you
tasks. You don't seem to be willing to apply the lessons offered to your
new projects and in this case you don't seem willing to reciprocate with the
time and care that may be required to fully explain "in detail" exactly what
it is that you want your project to achieve. We can't read your mind and I
for one am tired of trying.

Hi Designingsally,

i want to edit the document.

If we're disucssing editing in the same document as your find/replace macro is
running, I very much advise AGAINST trying to do so.

If you mean you'd like to work in another document while your macro is running,
I recommend you start another instance of Word and work in that.

As I recall, you can do this via the Window's "Run..." Command using:

winword.exe /n

A new instance of Word is not linked to the running instance in any way. So
your macro would not conflict with your editing.

Greg,

Sorry for the inconvience. I promise I take time and make the posts more
detail so that it can be understood by all the user.

Thanks for the advise.
